Winter Design Studio offers a series of fun kits for you to purchase and create.

Woolnix are three-dimensional and relief sculptures made from 100% sheep's wool, washed and dyed in my studio.  The process used is call "Needle Felting" or "Dry Felting".  By using a barbed felting needle, the pieces are sculpted into animals, hangings, whimsical characters or whatever seems fun at the time.  The pieces range in size from a few inches in diameter to larger wall hangings. 

Do It Yourself Kits and Supplies:  Winter Design Studio also offers a series of kits for you to learn this new and exciting art form.  Each kit includes complete instructions, materials, and two felting needles for you to get started.  All you need to supply is a foam rubber work surface and a few household & sewing tools which vary among kits.  (i.e. a metal awl, a doll makers' needle, a big eye needle etc.)  The kits also include an Introduction to Needle Felting sheet with safety and needle felting techniques.  Kits range in price from $15.00 to $60.00.  Also available are a variety of Natural and Colored Fleeces and Felting Needles. 

Each Woolnix piece is individually handmade  for you. This may mean a bit of a wait for your piece.  Please be patient, it will be worth the wait. Because felting is a sculpted form, rather than molded, each piece will be slightly different than the next.  Although I try to make each the same as the picture shown, it is impossible.  Therefore, when you receive your piece you may find some color and design differences.  Hopefully these will please you, however, if for any reason you are not pleased, return your piece within 30 days and receive a full refund.  Payment needs to be made by cash, check, or money order.

Special Orders:  I have found that many people are interested in having a replica of their favorite pet.  If you are one of them, E-mail or send a few pictures and I will give you an estimate.  You will see a few of the finished pieces in the Photo Galleries.

Just a Note:  Woolnix are not toys to be played with, they are
pieces of art, meant to be viewed.  It would not be appropriate for a young child.
